A Path to Recovery Peer Support Specialist Training is the peer support curriculum adapted by Camino Community Development Corp, Inc. The title affirms that recovery is achievable, but there is no right or wrong way to choose recovery; everyone travels on a different journey to the same result.

APPLY by emailing the completed application and one reference letter to PeerRecoveryTools@gmail.com You will then be interviewed by the facilitator or Powerhouse of Purpose staff. During your interview, you will be given payment instructions. SCHOLARSHIPS: Offered through NC Works WIOA program (income-based) and your local Vocational Rehabilitation Office (approval based on disability, mental health, and income). Please contact them to apply for assistance in paying for the Peer Support Training. Please inform them of the company name Camino Healthcare and the title of the course “A Path to Recovery Peer Support Training” so they can locate our training in their system. Camino Healthcare specializes in the professional development of mental health and substance use professionals. “A Path to Recovery: Certified Peer Support Training” is a 50 hour training that meets the North Carolina requirements to become a certified peer support specialist. Participants will learn the history, principles, and core concepts of peer support. Ensuring they complete the training prepared and ready to work in their community. Participants will learn skills through interactive participation, creative expression, and wellness skills in the areas of recovery, wellness, communication, de-escalation, engagement, crisis intervention, and crisis prevention. Participants will learn to ensure worker self-care while exploring tools to use with their peer in the community and tools to assist with the development of wellness identity. This training aspires confidence and holistically engages the various learning styles of participants. Leaving you with an understanding of your role as a certified peer support specialist, knowing your purpose, and helping you better engage with the populations you will serve.
Refund & Cancellation Policy Email PeerRecoveryTools@gmail.com to obtain a refund or change a training date that has already been purchased. 100% refunds will be given to those 1) that call within 72 hours of purchase to cancel registration and request refund 2) If a training is canceled due to lack of registration. 3) if inclement weather you will be given the option to take the next class or receive a 100% refund. *If a class must be cancelled, Diana Yarber will contact training participants by phone or verified email contact. In addition, an email providing training participants with options for a refund, to participate in a class at a different location, or to participate in a later class will be provided. Individuals calling 25 hours + after purchase will receive a 25% refund 1)if request is made prior to start of training. Every effort will be made to achieve resolution, including, but not limited to: refund of fees, substitution of course purchased, credit provided for future course. *If you are unable to attend the class after registering and paying you will receive 100% refund ONLY if you cancel within 72 hours.
