A fast growing Behavioral Health Agency serving Chatham & Lee Counties and have immediate openings in the Chatham County area.

Seeking staff residing in the Siler City area. Must live and desire to work within a 20-25 mile radius of the area of Siler City, NC.

The Peer Support Specialist provide individualized, recovery-focused support to persons that promotes the development of wellness self-management, personal recovery, natural supports, coping and self-advocacy skills, and the development of independent living skills for housing, employment and full community inclusion. This is a community-based service and a community-based employment.

Job Responsibilities:

 Assist clients with self-determination and decision-making

 Teach functional skills (managing meds, finances, health care, resources, daily living, etc.).

 Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action to encourage wellness

 Teach and promote self-advocacy and empower clients to use their legal rights

 Provide linkage to community resources

 Participate in team meetings

 Maintain and submit required documentation (treatment plans, service notes, etc.)

 Able to meet weekly quotas

 Attend weekly staff meeting/supervision

 Provide limited transportation support

Applicants must be:

 Must be flexible and be able to work various shifts as assigned.

 Must be NC Certified Peer Specialists with reliable transportation.

 Individuals who have the life experience of being diagnosed with a serious mental illness or substance use disorder.

 Well established in their own recovery.

 Currently in recovery and are stable within their recovery for an extended period of time up to two (2) years or more.

 Have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.

 Ability to participate in community outreach.

 MUST have a valid driver's license and willing to use your personal vehicle for work.

 Previous experiences working as a Peer Support Specialist in a community setting is preferred but not required.
