Location: Qualla Recovery Community Center, Cherokee NC

Pay Rate: $20/hour

Position Type: 30 hours a week

Sunrise Community for Recovery and Wellness is seeking a passionate and motivated NC

Certified Peer Support Specialist to help organize, develop, and open the doors to our new

Qualla Recovery Community Center. This position, titled Recovery Community Center

Staff, is vital to ensuring that the center thrives as a hub for cultural and recovery support,

grounded in the values and traditions of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI).

Key Responsibilities:

● Assist in the creation and organization of the Qualla Recovery Community Center.

● Play a central role in preparing the center for opening and supporting day-to-day

operations.

● Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals seeking recovery

support.

● Ensure EBCI culture remains at the forefront of all programs and initiatives.

● Collaborate with EBCI community members, tribal programs, organizations, and

resources.

● Attend regular Sunrise staff meetings and actively collaborate with Sunrise teams to

ensure alignment with the organization's mission and goals.

Qualifications:

● Must be an NC Certified Peer Support Specialist.

● Familiarity with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) community and its

resources is highly preferred.

● Experience or passion for working in a culturally focused recovery environment.

● Strong organizational and communication skills.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
