My recovery journey began in 2017. I was fighting a gambling addiction. Because of my addiction I lost my family, house, and car.
I was charged with embezzlement and spent 1 year in prison.
I thought my life was over, I soon found out it was just beginning.
One day a friend of mine asked me if I have ever heard of Peer Support? I had not, so I did my research and found out I needed WRAP. I took the WRAP class and then the Peer Support class. I have not gambled since 2016.
I still follow my WRAP plan and adjust the plan as my life changes.
My recovery journey has been amazing! I am the Vice President of Peer Recovery Resources. I have been a NCCPSS facilitator and have seen many success stories. I am a Family to Family facilitator, WRAP Facilitator, and WHAM Facilitator. In my past career, I was a safety coordinator and facilitated numerous meetings in front of many employees. Now, I live my life to help others with the same problems I suffered from. Peer Support and recovery have truly changed my life. I am honored to share my experience, strength, and hope.
