About Us

Disability Rights & Resources’ mission is to create a fully inclusive community in which all people, with and without disabilities, may pursue their own goals and choices for living and working together. As a staff member at DR&R, you’ll be part of a small team of dedicated disability advocates helping people make a successful transition to independent living and integrate into the communities they want to be part of. We respect that people with disabilities know their own needs, and their perspective is the most important as they decide how they want to live, work, and take part in their communities. That is why people with disabilities make up a majority of our board and staff, and our consumers are in charge of every phase of their interaction with us.

Job description

Community Inclusion Specialists’ primary job responsibilities include:

  • Assist consumers with community integration and living independently in the community in Cabarrus or Gaston counties in NC.
  • Act as a role model, resource, advocate and supportive confidant to consumers.
  • Assist consumers in the development and the achievement of their goals.
  • Document consumer contacts, consumer records, data collection and other recordkeeping, as required, in a timely manner.

A full job description is available on request.
