Recovery Support & Health Services Coordinator (NC CPSS Required)

Pay: $48,000 annually

Position Overview

The Recovery Support & Health Services Coordinator provides peer-delivered recovery support services to chemically dependent women and their children in accordance with NC DHHS standards, Medicaid service definitions, and applicable grant requirements.

Using lived recovery experience, the North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) supports engagement, retention, and stabilization in treatment by coordinating Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), physical and specialty healthcare services, and transportation. The role ensures continuity of care, accurate documentation, and collaboration across medical, clinical, and residential teams.

Primary Outcome:
To deliver trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented services that improve access to care, support treatment compliance, and enhance recovery outcomes for a specialized population.

Essential Functions Peer Support Services

Deliver Medicaid-eligible peer support services using lived recovery experience
Promote recovery, wellness, self-determination, and resilience
Mentor beneficiaries through early recovery stages
Support development of recovery identity and independent living skills
Facilitate linkage to community resources, mutual aid, and self-help services
Provide reproductive health education and referrals as appropriate
Assist with crisis intervention consistent with program policy


MAT & Health Services Coordination

Coordinate, monitor, and document all MAT appointments
Coordinate physical health and specialty care appointments
Ensure uninterrupted access to MAT and medical services
Facilitate and/or provide transportation to required appointments
Safely transport prescribed medications from MAT providers to the residential program
Ensure MAT information is reflected in the Person-Centered Plan (PCP) and clinical record
Coordinate information exchange with MAT providers, medical staff, and treatment team


Transportation & Safety

Transport beneficiaries to treatment and community-based services
Maintain transportation logs and ensure vehicle safety compliance
Monitor car seat use and conduct quarterly inventory
Maintain valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, and auto insurance


Documentation & Compliance

Complete timely, accurate, and Medicaid-compliant progress notes
Maintain client logs, correspondence, and incident reports
Prepare required monthly program and grant reports
Collect random drug screens/breathalyzers per policy
Observe medication administration when required
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and PCP development


Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

Applicants must meet all requirements to be considered:

Active North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification
Minimum one (1) year experience working with individuals diagnosed with a Substance Use Disorder
Minimum one (1) year experience working with pregnant or parenting women
High School Diploma or GED
Valid NC driver’s license with excellent driving record
Ability to meet NC DHHS background check and clearance requirements
Applicants without active NC CPSS certification will not be considered.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs (occasionally 50 lbs)
