Job Summary
The Certified Peer Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health and substance use challenges. This position involves leveraging personal experience to foster hope, resilience, and recovery among clients. The Certified Peer Specialist will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide guidance, mentorship, and advocacy, helping clients navigate their recovery journey effectively.

Job Description: Provides highly individualized services in the community and promotes individual self-determination and decision-making to individuals with Mental Health or Substance Abuse issues.  Certified Peer Support Specialists also provide essential expertise and consultation to the entire team to promote a culture in which each individual’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected and integrated into treatment, rehabilitation, and community self-help activities.

Main Function: CPSS provides structured, scheduled services that promote recovery, self-determination, self-advocacy, engagement in self-care and wellness and enhancement of community living skills of the members served.

Certified Peer Support Specialist/IPS Supportive Employment -Employment Peer Mentor

Employment Peer Mentor (EPM): EPMs offer hope and motivation by drawing from their lived experience and their own employment experiences to encourage other individuals to seek and maintain employment, wellness, and community integration. Employment Peer Mentors do not hold their own caseloads and do not function as an extension of ESPs or as case managers. They support any and all individuals enrolled in the service through the provision of wellness interventions, promoting self-determination, and helping individuals advocate for themselves.
