The Forsyth County Department of Emergency Services is seeking to hire a Peer Support Specialist. In the role of a peer support professional with the mobile integrated healthcare division of Forsyth County Emergency medical services you will get the opportunity to connect with clients who are experiencing crisis that involve both behavioral health and substance abuse issues. You will work as a connector for these clients and help advocate for them to receive services and supports that specifically address any unmet needs they may have.

Nexus Recovery Support Community Peer Staff

Refuge Crisis Support Peer Supporter

We are looking for part-time contractor who can work independently to support individuals at our "Refuge" house who are coming from area Emergency Departments and other agencies. This job includes welcoming and hosting an individual (includes offering meals, shower, laundry, and sleep)  and assisting to link the person to the Peer Center and other resources they may need once they have rested.  Training will be provided.  This role sometimes involves going to one of the hospitals to pick up an individual who has been referred by hospital staff.  The R
